A Message from Melissa Liew, Founder of Learning Fresh

Welcome to Learning Fresh!

I founded Learning Fresh in 2011 with a conviction that has only deepened over time: children flourish when they are known, respected, and intellectually engaged. I have never believed in rushing childhood, reducing learning to compliance, or mistaking busyness for progress. I believe learning is constructed through relationships, language, play, inquiry, and purposeful practice, guided by adults who hold both warmth and high expectations.
 
Our pedagogy is Reggio Emilia-inspired, anchored in strong English development and genuine school readiness. In our classrooms, curiosity is not treated as a distraction from learning; it is the starting point. We listen closely to children’s ideas, design meaningful projects that invite depth, and teach with clear intentions. Language is built deliberately through rich conversation, storytelling, reading, and writing. Thinking is strengthened through hands-on exploration, reflection, and problem-solving. Alongside academic foundations, we nurture self-regulation, resilience, and social confidence, because these are not “soft skills”; they are the conditions that allow learning to take root.
 
You will see evidence of learning in what your child can do, say, write, explain, and create, not merely in what they have completed. We document learning carefully so families can understand progress, next steps, and the thinking behind each experience.
 
Over the years, Learning Fresh has served thousands of families across multiple chapters and communities. Today, our work continues in Kuala Lumpur with our flagship campus in Mont Kiara, our Damansara Heights centre, and our KLCC campus opening in 2026. Yet the heart of Learning Fresh remains unchanged: a calm, inspiring environment where children are protected, challenged, and celebrated.
